Seeded Rye Bread
A really hearty, moist and moreish loaf. Easy to make and it has a gorgeous flavour and fabulous texture.
Write a review
  1. 500g flour - I use a mixture of rye and plain
  2. 1tsp salt
  3. 1 packet of dried instant yeast
  4. 300ml warm water
  5. 1Tbsp sugar
  6. A spray of water & seeds of your choice
  1. Mix all ingredients and then knead for 5 minutes
  2. Leave to rise for an hour in an oiled and covered bowl away from draughts
  3. Punch down, shape and leave to rise on an oiled tray and cover the bread- leave for an hour
  4. Preheat the oven to 200 C (fan)
  5. Uncover the bread, spray with water and sprinkle seeds on the loaf. It should be twice the size by now
  6. Bake for 30 minutes
  1. Gorgeous with salad, humous and freshly picked herbs
